Virtual Reality Experience. How is that an oxymoron? It says straight up that it is a fake with some of the attributes of reality, so that part is fine, and it logically has to be experienced to be evaluated. Colour me confused!

2nd annual going out of business sale. …Wow. OK. You really saw that somewhere? That's common in furniture retail. There are actually companies that run the sale and the resultant "reopening" under new or slightly different management. Or they totally ignore the previous going out business sale and just resume "normal" business at some point.

FYI -- there are 3 classes of Oxymoron.... this is a bit technical and I wouldn't normally mention it, but I figure if you love the C128 you must be a bit of a geek
Anyway, here are my definitions: - Class 1 - True Oxymoron... like 'smart idiot'. No matter how you interpret it, the terms contradict each other. (In this example, a better scheme may be: major idiot, common idiot, and mild idiot)
- Class 2 - Misinterpretation... like 'jumbo shrimp'. If you assume 'shrimp' means the adjective 'small' then it is a True Oxymoron, but I think most (English-speaking) people realize that 'shrimp' refers to a sea creature. Now is 'jumbo sea creature' a True Oxymoron? No, but it sure sounds like one if you use the wrong interpretation!
- Class 3 - Metaphysics... like 'efficient government'. No matter how you look at the dictionary definitions of these words, there is no contradiction. However, governments (and bureaucracies in general) are widely regarded as being inefficient. So the implication of government (metaphysics = inefficient) combined with adjective 'efficient' leads to a contradiction!
Anyway, keep posting any/all oxymorons to this thread!
Edit Preferably, computer related! /Edit
