Ah, thanks for that link! Missed that one when I shopped for my board or I would have gone that route for sure. I'll give that some thought. I could always flip my bare board to recoup some of what I spent previously.

Good news! Someone over at Lemon had an available cable as well as TTL board and case, so I'll be all set soon. Unrelated, I just installed JiffyDOS for the first time today, and am now kicking myself for waiting nearly 4 decades to do so

Got my RGBtoHDMI all set up today. It's remarkable seeing such a clear and crisp picture from my 128! I can't speak to how it compares to other options, or how it does for 40-column output with the optional analog board which I don't have, but I can highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't already have a great HDMI output option for the VDC.

Good to hear. Make sure you use the latest firmware-release found here: github.com/hoglet67/RGBtoHDMI/releasesI did some improvements for the profiles of C128 / VDC last year, e.g. VDC Mode Mania, VDC VGA Mania and Spectrumania should work fine/much better now. If your version is the one from May 2023 it is too old!

Thank you! I'm on the latest, and it's working very well except for interlaced modes. The screen is fine for half a second, then will flash black, then will be fine again until the next flash. If I open the menu, all is stable, then it goes back to flashing once I exit. From looking through some of the discussion on Github, it sounds like I may need to make a custom profile. I suspect the issue is due to the unusual configuration of my 128. It's a North American flat model that's been converted to PAL. (On an unrelated note, it's also been upgraded to 64K VDC RAM, which I'm very happy to have.)

Tokra, speaking of video modes, what would be the best way to achieve an effective resolution of 160x200, noninterlaced with full color freedom? Would it be VDC-HFLI with a %11110000 pattern and treating each 4x2 area as a chunky pixel using attributes? I've done that with 640x200 before for a virtual 160x100 mode. I know support would likely be limited to the 1901 and the RGBtoHDMI, but that'd be acceptable for my purposes.

If I open the menu, all is stable, then it goes back to flashing once I exit. The flashing is standard for modes for which no profile exists. If you use the modes from my demos there should be no flashing as I have created profiles specifically for these. I had to set my RGBtoHDMI to output 1920x1080 manually as when set to "auto" I get strange results. Yes, I think that would be the way to go, since the 8x1-modes only go up to 480 pixels and are cumbersome to display (need to set up your own interrupt based on VDC-cycles).
