Hi. I was wondering if there's anyone out there who is normal (compared to ebay, that is ha ha) and has a 1571 that is not "l@@k! R@RE!! $251.46" and actually is at a normal and helpful price. Or even two of them (one for my zoomFloppy and another for the C128)? The one that I had gotten with the 128 does not work. I've been poking along with a couple '81s which are great, but the '71 works with all the other original software that I have (like paperback writer, iPort, etc). Albeit, I should be further along with my software projects and getting some solutions going for the ethernet card and the 128 but I've been given a new section of science to teach and that's been taking up my time for the past few months -- and will be for the next few months, too. I'm located in Canada. If anyone can pass along some help, that would be grand and greatly appreciated I'm not look for garage sale 25 cent cheap, but a price that is at least relevant and normal. Cheers, c

Hi,
I've got exactly the same problem. On ebay, I found a C128D for 400€!
For the moment, I code only on VICE, even if the emulator have some problems.

Agreed. Then everyone else seems to join in on the bizarre prices and nothing is ever sold. I tend to think that this really hurts the scene when a lot of people cannot afford the misguided inflated prices. Something that should $50 is trying to being sold for 250. It's a greedy shame. It's a shame that anyone would pay it--making the trend continue.

I think I might have found one in Toronto...I think. The cost is $50 CDN and the shipping is only $12. The ebay price looks very reasonable, all considering. But shipping it to me is almost the same cost as the part, making it about twice as much lol. Can't win for losing. Thanks for the info

Sorry for spamming the boards, but I *too* would LOVE to get a fully-working 1571... I have bought several from eBay... they all "work" in very primitive sense (read/write 1541 = single-sided) but (so far) all of my purchases fail (often, but not 100%) in double-sided (1571) mode. Personally I do not blame the sellers, but the cheap mechanics of CBM...

Heh, Hydro, contact me if you want to buy a 1571 which I can get out of storage. Fully working and at our club prices. However, it does not have the upgrade ROM. FCUG celebrating 33 years, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm
