It's possible to change function key. The memory address is $1000. In fact, there are 10 functions keys. The HELP key can be modifying too ;-). The 10 first positions is the length of the command. The string command end with $0D for <ENTER>.

You are right... F1 to F8 (standard) definition is stored in $1000 region...
F1 to F8 is fairly standard ( relative to VIC-20 and C64)
New definitions of 'F9' and 'f10' are also possible!
Default value of 'F9' = SHIFT + STOP [keys] is: 'dL"*"' + RUN
Default value of 'f10' = 'HELP'
Hmmm... F9 seems like a good way to hack the c128 OS... (my lame opinion)
