I've recently been going through my old Commodore equipment and deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. The first item to go is this C128, since I also own a C128D and another C128. This computer is in fair working condition. There is some yellowing of the plastic on the case and keyboard (see photos), and some of the keys have to be pressed really hard to get a response. The electronics themselves seem to be in excellent condition, however. As you can see from the pictures, it boots and runs just fine. In addition to the actual system, I'm including the original box, power supply unit, user's guide, and working copies of the original demo/utility disk and CP/M 3.0 system disks provided by the manufacturer. I plan to list it on eBay starting Thursday, but I thought I'd post here first to see if anyone is interested and would like to make me an offer. Here is a link to the photos I took for the auction: Commodore 128 (Photobucket Album)Pictured but not included: 1571 disk drive, 2002 Monitor.

Thanks for giving us a heads-up on your C128 auction! Mine is working fine, and I don't need another, but it seems like a really sweet deal, considering it includes the all-important power supply, plus extras like original box, disks, and manual!

Thanks for the link to your auction, Dragget! The opening bid seems too high for an eBay auction... it is almost like you don't want to sell it? (Can't blame you!) I doubt I would pay $150 for a 128-D in good condition (let alone a flat 128 in marginally working condition). But then, that is the fun with eBay, right? You never know who may come along and spend "outrageous" amounts of money to get that one item they want right now...

I looked into what they sold for historically there and seems that most of the working ones that sold went for around $200. I've had bad experiences in the past with auction style listings where I need to get a minimum amount and for whatever reason, the auction doesn't get indexed properly. This resulted in not enough views, and consequently only 1 or 2 bids and the item sold for much less than what I was hoping for. With something like this, I'd rather set the opening bid high enough that I'm not risking that kind of issue.

Well at least you did your research. It seems awful pricey to me... anyway, just wanted to let you know eBay is advertising for you! I was wasting time over at TV Tropes and saw an add for C128 on eBay. Then I thought, hey, Dragget is selling a C128 so I clicked on the ad (shock)... yep, it is yours You should feel special, I've never seen any of my eBay listings pop up as an advert on another website... (of course this probably targeted marketing... they know I like Commie stuff, and I've never sold Commie stuff).

I found the Quick Start guide for this the other day, while sorting through some old boxes of books. I've added it to the package and relisted. This computer has the heavy duty version (4.3A) of the PSU, and the only real functionality issue is the keyboard, which if I understand correctly, can be repaired (most likely, the keyboard mechanism just needs to be disassembled and the contacts cleaned). eBay auction linkedit: sold today
