Hi!
I have new UIEC/SD and it has #9 default device number. I need any other and change by software method is not enough... is possible to change default device number by any jumper or so?
Thank you for help. Miro

I know there is a command to change the device ID and to save it to flash for the SD2IEC, not sure if that works on that model you have.

Command to rewrite device number works.
Booting to CP/M: Yes, is possible but UIEC or SD2IEC must to have #8 device number - looks like as default. Miro

Not to side track. But are all the UIEC/ SD from Retro Innovation defaulting to # 9?. Or is it just a matter of asking when ordering the device?

What I did with my old CF type one was change the device number using the u0 command and then issued this, to write it to the ueic's memory:
open1,device#,15,"xw":close1
So, if your device is ID9 when it powers up, do this:
OPEN1,9,15,"U0>"+CHR$(8):CLOSE1
OPEN1,8,15,"XW":CLOSE1
After that, it should be device 8 by default when powered up.

The guy at TFW8B sent me this instruction on how to change the device # with a C128D.
Change device address C128D Plug in SD2IEC Power connector and switch on OPEN1,8,15,”U0>”+CHR$(10):CLOSE1 – change C128D device number to ID10 Plug in SD2IEC Data connector OPEN1,8,15,”U0.”+CHR$(9):CLOSE1 – change sd2iec device number to ID9 OPEN1,9,15,”XW”:close1 – this will save settings to eeprom so SD2IEC remains on ID9 after power off Switch off and then on. The internal C128D drive will reset to ID8 and the SD2IEC will be set to ID9
