Tonight I met with C64/128 game programmer Bjonte at Herman's Restaurant, overlooking the harbor here in Stockholm, Sweden. We had a great dinner in a beautiful setting, and we talked about Commodore, CommVEx, future projects, and even politics! Then Amiga programmer Dimitris P. joined us near the end of dinner, and we talked even more! Afterwards, we took the metro across the waterway and went to Wokhouse, another restaurant plus bar where the "Monday Club" retro-computing group was being held. Yes, every Monday night from 7 to 11 they are at the back of the fancy establishment; this time they were playing games from the Nintendo Entertainment System mini-replica and were using the big projection screen. We met the leader, Oscar B., who said that the club had been around for 7 years, 2 years at Wokhouse. As we were treated to drinks, David C., organizer of the old Monastery Party in the Czech Republic, joined us. I hadn't seen David since 2005, and he was deep into the demoscene as ever, telling us about past and upcoming parties. The evening was over way too quickly! I wanted to talk more to Oscar and to David, but Bjonte had work the next day. So, he, Dimitris, and I left, with Bjonte showing me back to the Hotel Alexandra (it's difficult for me to make my way in an unfamiliar, big city in the dark at night). There is the outside chance that I may meet with David tomorrow. Wednesday I fly out of Sweden. Photos to come later, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm
