Hmm...this part seems familiar: "The Color Ram is actually 4-bit in size and the VIC chip can only address 4-bit, there are only the other 4-bit for the CPU free, so you have seen another "bank". So does this increase the number of colors that can be output? Nope. It only gives you 4 more bits as a "buffer" and could thus swap between the upper and lower "bank". So are there any compatibility issues? Should not really, but nothing is 100%, if one modifies. (the upper bank is always set to signal high in the original)" I'm sure I've seen something like that before. www.sdiy.org/richardc64/color/byte.html

Woah, this seems interesting! If it is similar to the Reloaded board I'd want one to increase the hardware life time. Nice to fit in a smaller case.

Honestly, they should have put sockets for the connectors on both sides. One spaced for the 64 case and one spaced for the original C128 case. It probably wouldn't have made the PCB cost much more either. A 128 in a C64 case is just wrong This would have been great for fixing 128s with damaged mobos, but now? It will just be a thing that eats the supply of rare chips for REAL 128s. (I still like it though)

Hmm, yes, lacking the full keyboard may be a compatibility issue.

Cool that someone is doing this. But, as stated above I would prefer one that allows the 128 keyboard or a recreation of it including the 128's keypad and other keys that are unique to the 128.

Yeah, I think without the proper keyboard it is sort of a deal breaker for me.

The major reason I love the C-128 is it's numeric keypad. This is a COMPLETE non-starter for me without that. Although maybe If I could fit in real C128 case.
Also... If you're going to re-do the C128 Motherboard, how adding the C512k Transactor mod that allowed for more banks of C128 RAM.

I never understood why 256 kB wasn't supported by the real C128. Was it a hardware mistake?
