In December 2018, Google announced it will be terminating all 'consumer' Google+ services (like gmail, websites, etc.) effective on (or before) April 2019.
Google swears to continue support for 'enterprise' Google+ services (for schools and businesses, as I understand it).
Anyway, it seems my site, H2Obsession -- packed with CBM info -- is destined to be deleted. Although we are well into April 2019, that website still exists (for now)... Google did say it would take sever months to delete all accounts, so I assume my site is on the "destruction" list and is lucky to exist today (April 16, 2019).
MY QUESTION --
Any recommendations for other hosting options?
According to web analytics, in year 2018 I had about 20K visitors... about 75% of that was "bounce" traffic (people accidentally stumbled onto my website and left immediately), but the remaining (legitimate) 5000 visitors spent several minutes per visit ("visitor session time"). For you math nuts, that is over 400 legitimate CBM users per month.
So the site seems to be useful to the CBM community, and I would like to preserve the content for the future. But I am not sure how. So I am asking for any/all opinions!
Maybe I could copy the data to a "freeforums.net" site? That is surely possible, but if a mega-company like Google can't survive "free" sites, I have EXTREME doubt about freeforums.net!
Or I could copy the data to a paid hosting platform... but I am not rich so I would have to find a way to financially support such a move. I really hate site-advertisements and would prefer to avoid that... but allowing adverts might be better than loosing everything...
I don't know. I really don't know! If you have any advice/suggestion, please post!
