Hi!
I'm searching for any solution to use Z80 with SCPU's 65816. Really when is SCPU turned on get control over all. Yes, possible is to use overclock 8502 to ~1,3MHz but really is not possible to switch to Z80 mode.
Like dream GO128 is my dream turning off SCPU by software method.
I'm thinking about all, for example here's decription of ABORTB (I got is from Richard Conrad and I'm thankful):
The Abort (ABORTB) negative pulse active input is used to abort instructions (usually due to an Address Bus condition).
A negative transition will inhibit modification of any internal register during the current instruction.
Upon completion of this instruction, an interrupt sequence is initiated.
The location of the aborted OpCode is stored as the return address in stack memory.
The Abort vector address is 00FFF8,9 (Emulation mode) or 00FFE8,9 (Native mode).
Note that ABORTB is a pulse-sensitive signal; i.e., an abort will occur whenever there is a negative pulse (or level) on the ABORTB
pin during a PHI2 clock.
Have anybody any idea? Of course if is used reset, then SCPU init starts so by software is needed to make active real 8502 or any dissapearing control over all by SCPU...

As every 128 user knows REUs developed for C128 have free EPROM socket for use as external function ROM. I'm owner of REU 1764 expanded to 1,5MB (1536K) where is not possible to modify it for socket 'cause all is soldered to use 1,5MB.
So, my offer is to exchange my 1764 REU 1,5 MB to 1750 REU 512K with free EPROM socket. Compare if size of free bytes or socket is more useful. For me socket.
No any money, no PSU like C64 users needs - my REU also has not PSU, so if any C64 user wants it must to have heavy duty PSU for his computer...

OK, please don't give me deadline. I do all what is possible, currently I do it from begin to end: from boot sequence to full operating... boot sequence first checks state of installation, so I must now to create installed system, then - check all and in free time do the installation procedure. I can't to do installation procedure before running system 'cause some req'd parts must to be corrected.
My C128 is for me more than PC, but really I'm developing all in Windows and for now my Windows looks bad, I go to change MB and after reinstall and all customization & tuning I can continue.
Also for The Ace is now too old Icon Editor, missing Font Editor for proportional fonts, so I must to develop it and will publish and finally when will be all checked and working after release I publish universal developing tool for applications for The Ace "Taste" studio for PC later in real The Ace.

For now I'm only one developer. Our team crashed at december 2013...
Short info: I'm collecting code from team members, doing modifications and needed patches - for one purpose only:
First live release Very lite with not full features, possible to test in VICE for testing and deciding if you're still interest in or not more) Suggestions can be placed here, for example which features are most wanted etc.

Hi Robert!
First is correct to say: This solution is not possible to use with 128DCR's VDC8568. Why? Simple - VDC8568 has one additional register which can inverse sync, this allows to use EGA mode with one limit only: 16 colors instead 64... This sync factor is also deadly for standard Commodore monitors - so, NEVER TRY TO USE EGA MODE ON STANDARD MONITOR FOR C128! It destroys it. EGA mode is possible to use other way - converters at all or simple - connect to standard EGA monitor.
Sync polarity cannot allow to use multichrome mode (this is correct name of mode with LWHT, DWHT, LBLK, DBLK 'monochrome' mode) I tested it on real 128, 128D and DCR - both working, DCR not.

Hi boys!
It's my first post on this forum, recommended by Robert Willie, known as Hydrophilic... Very sad, Landover BSS looks now really dead, 2 times it was recovered, I believed that it's new failure which will be solved, but not, sad...
I'm searching for 80 Column Card for Commodore 64.
I know these models (in list are not never produced prototypes): BI-80 by Batteries Included C64 80 COLUMN CARD uses MOS8563R9 by ? EX80 MK Datentechnik uses MC6845 by REX Datentechnik Protecto 80 by Protecto Enterprizes Videopak 80 by Data 20
One of them, ideally C64 80 Column Card which uses MOS8563 I want to own... I give price wanted!
Thank you boys!
Good luck for this forum.
