Hi!
I'm using very rare 5,25" diskettes, but when I must I have 1571CR in my 128DCR. I own CMD-HD and CMD FD-4000 and see conflict of 1571CR with these two devices. When I want to display directory of any diskette in 1571CR I must to turn off my CMD-HD, then is directory correctly displayed no matter if is FD-4000 on. But when I want to load any file from 1571CR, I must to turn off both devices - CMD-HD and FD-4000 too.
Can anybody explain me this problem?
My 128DCR uses SCPU128 and built-in JiffyDOS, no other ROM mods, 1571CR has original CBM DOS 3.1.
Thank you for all.

Of course not: 8: FD-4000 10: 1571CR 11: CMD-HD

Does problem happen with SCPU off and on (both ways)?
Assuming SCPU is not the problem, I can only guess there is conflict with JiffyDOS ? I say this because CMD devices support it, and you have JiffyDOS in your C128... but not in the 1571CR.
So if you disable JiffyDOS of C128, will 1571CR work with other drives turned on? If yes, then JiffyDOS ROM for your 1571CR might help...
I really don't know... just giving suggestions to isolate the problem.

Hi Robert!
You're true... problem is in JiffyDOS. I disabled JiffyDOS in my SCPU by switcher and all works fine - reading dir, loading files... Only one Q is here for now: Is Jiffy1571CR available, if here?

Jim Brain has all the computer (KERNAL) ROMs that I know exist, but it looks like he only has drive ROMs for 1541 series... his website says 'coming soon' 1571 and 1581
Maybe he does have them but the website is not updated? You should contact him to be sure... or maybe somebody else has these?
I own JiffyDOS for 1571 (not CR) so I could upload file if requested, but I don't have EPROM burner, so I can't make physical chips like Jim Brain.
Edit I just noticed this is my 256th post! /Edit

I know that Jim has all JiffyDOSes for sale. I have full set of JiffyDOS - also non-Commodore drives and Commodore computers which I didn't knew that is there JD support. Of course image files, no chips... Only one problem: Jiffy1571D have, but not 1571CR...

$55 is a bit much for a ROM (edit, 2 ROMs). Well also get a toggle switch I guess if you want it, you'll spend the money (or find a buddy to burn it for you).

I was ordering in Retro Innovations earlier and now see that Jim has prices to be enough for him not buyers friendly... I have JiffyDOS on my DCR from SCPU128, missing is only in 1571CR and simple switch with reset makes not so big problem like in case of C64, fast serial is available also on 1571, if it could be 1541 then it's about buying one.
