At my recent haul of C= stuff from Computer Station (see blog.retro-link.com/2017/01/picking-up-haul-from-computer-station.html ), I picked up three C128DCR's... all of them without the detachable keyboards. After confirming with Ray Carlsen that flat C128 keyboards would work, I'm hoping to have a friend machine (CNC) the keyboard cases. Then all I have to do is scrounge around for flat C128 keyboards to populate the new cases. Ray said that he could build the cables to attach the detachable keyboards to the DCR boxes. I think this is the way to go. Im sick of seeing keyboards on Ebay for extortionate prices (e.g. Amiga 3/4000, Acorn Archimedes, etc). Im really surprised no one has thought to 3D print the Amiga keyboards. It seems an A1200 case is of higher importance as per the sucessful kickstarter campaign.
My flat 128 keyboard could do with a nice case. How much are these going to set you back?

In the 3 hours I was there, I went from shelf to shelf, sorting through the items (something that he didn't do). There were no extra C128D keyboards. Truly, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm

My friend is still looking at the feasibility of making these things. Truly, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm

Will those C128 DCR's be for sale? When the detachable keyboards are together with their units, then I will decide. Truly, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm

It depends on the pinouts. Ive given up trying to find the correct pinout leads. Have tried several. Waited months for them to arrive to find they arent correctly connected. I even tried some arduino style wires as suggested, but the pin diameter is too small for the DB25 female socket and the wire female end too small to properly fit on the DB25 male pins. Ive finally resorted to buying a DB25 breakout connector like this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381634586413?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITIts a bit cumbersome, but Im going to hide it inside my flat 128 case! Please keep us posted on the 128D case shells Robert.

I'm actually trying to make a short extension to my 128DCR's keyboard so I can put it on the keyboard tray of the desk it's now sitting on with my Panasonic P2123 Printer. Could someone tell me what pins I'd need to change if I keep the female end of a DB25 parallel extension cable as is, and put on a new male end? What pinout needs to be changed so that the 128 will see the right keypresses?
Thanks, guys.
