I thought I'd share the function ROMS that I have for the C128. ROMS that are meant to be put in the empty ROM socket inside the C128 or in a REU. The following are the ones I have collected:
Click here for Basic 8, please remember to hold down the CONTROL key at startup or the C128 will not start Basic 8. Also keep the 40/80 key pressed. Obviously Click here for the Servant and here for its manual. Click here for GEOS. For the best result keep the 40/80 key pressed at startup. Click here for the SuperChip. I've heard of different versions of this chip, the A, B and even C version. This seems to be the A version. Click here for the KeyDos ROM.
There is also a "bastard" known as the "Turbo Assembler 128". Click here to get it. It's actually an assembler (Turbo Illasm V3.0 by Lynchbit/Lepsi) for the C64 that copies itself into the appropriate place in RAM and then switches to 64-mode.
Last but not least, this is for you Hydrophilic, it's labeled Basic 9 or Basic 9.1. I have no idea what it is Click here to get it.

Boing! I've never heard of anything higher than Basic 8 for the C128. Surprised, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm

That BASIC 9.1 ROM is actually the BASIC 2 ROM from the C64. I found that SuperChip ROM before and it had a text file along with it that read: This is a ROM dump of an EPROM I found socketed in the "empty" socket of my C128. The label on the EPROM says:
Super Chip Chip "A" 2.0
(1986)(Schollmeyer) I don't have any original documentation on it.
It adds the following features to the function keys in C128 mode:
F1 = Nibbler F2 = GO64:LOAD":*",8,1 F3 = File Copier F4 = Seq file reader F5 = Terminal F6 = Screen Dump F7 = Sector Editor F8 = Disk Load from listing
It may do more, but that's all I've figured out.
Press HELP for menu I haven't investigated it much, I don't know if it does any more than what's listed.

Thanks for the analysis, buzbard! BASIC 9.1 really is a misnomer if adds no new commands (nor expandeds functionality of existing commands). The F2 entry is very interesting.... it would be cool if the standard ROMs would allow this by (for example) holding down CONTROL during reset/power-up. The F7 entry is also very interesting... when I'm not running an application or debugging my own programs, much (most?) of my time is related to disk-editor stuff! (Umm... I guess I *really* need to download this and give it a try?!)

Yesterday I made a run to South San Francisco to pick up a collection of Commodore and Amiga items being disposed of by a user. Among the equipment, there was a flat Commodore 128 with a Super Chip label of instructions pasted to the C128's casing. I haven't opened it up yet, but I hope it has a Super Chip... a chip that I have never seen before. Still emptying the car, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm

Found this Super Chip review at groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.sys.cbm/UWfjUTX-UYE. I wonder how do you switch between side A and side B?

I haven't seen a physical SuperChip my self but I'm assuming it works in the same way as the C64 KERNAL switch, it probably comes with a switch that's mounted to the case. [Edit]There is a picture of a "SuperChip C" on N2DVM's blog (scroll down to the "15:48 10/29/2011" entry). Looks like it does come with a switch

The links no longer work I've managed to find all I'm interested in via Google searches except "Turbo Assembler 128." Anyone know where to find a binary for that? Thank you.

Sorry about that feedingdragon and all of you, it seems I deleted the files. They have been restored and the links work again
