Update:
Ok, I know its been a while since Ive done any real 'work' on the 128 resolution/corruption solution. However, I have had 3 major setbacks, so I hope you will excuse the lack of any new information.
They were:
1.) I got married yesterday! For the past month Ive had a load of wedding decorations/clothes/paraphernalia infront of my electronics cupboard, so have been unable to get to anything.
And ontop of that, tomorrow Im going on a cruise to Norway for my honeymoon! :-)
Heres a picture of my C128D,s ready for some action along with one of the Sony PVM's.
2.) Have you ever been searching for the odd few items online, but they never seem to be available, or for a price that you can afford at the time? Well, It seems all my birthdays came at once recently, and I was able to pick up some great bits that I had been after for ages. Here are the bits for anyone who may be interested:
The bottom cart is a Final Chess Cartridge and the top one is a Georam 512Kb cart.
And I know this is a C128 forum, but hey, I couldnt resist this baby:
Its an Atari Falcon mainboard which may need a bit of TLC and perhaps some casing, shielding and a PSU.
More stuff to waylay me! However, they are NOT really preventing me from continuing with the 128 stuff.
3.) High speed Drams. Im not sure, but I believe that I have some 486 processor cache Ram knocking about in the cupboard that are pretty much essential for my project, which I havent been able to get to due to setback number 1. Hopefully This will not be a problem soon.
So there it is. I will be getting my workspace back to normal fairly soon now and will probably begin a new thread for my next step, as this one has probably run its course now. (Hey everyone, where are all the high res test results on your monitors??!)
Oh, did I mention that Im meant to be writing a game too? Dont worry, I can cope with 2 projects on the go!
Right. I think Ive gone on enough here, but as a final note, I will just say that the 'downtime' has helped me to research and look into new angles/approaches to projects that may well be able to be realised as extensions to what I am trying to do here.
To all the guys who have helped with ideas and explanations (hydro, mirko, pyrofer, steve, etc) keep up the good work. With a bit of luck, what I am trying to do here should help you all with your projects.
Ok, time to go, and If I dont reply to anyone in the next 7 days, its because Im on a ship off the Norwegian coast! Bye for now! :-)
