At this year's CommVEx, programmer Chris Brenner will make his first appearance at the show. Chris was the programmer of the original, early 1990's Digimaster for the C64, the best audio-digitizing program with 8-bit resolution and a very nice GUI for mouse or joystick. In 2012 Hydrophilic kindly created Digimaster for the C128, which provided a bit more memory room for audio-sampling, tweaked the programming, and gave it NTSC/PAL auto-detection. Now that Chris is appearing at CommVEx, I hope that he will present some historical background on Digimaster C64 and can advise on improving that program. The program needs more control on whether it initializes into NTSC or into PAL. Also with all the other programmers in the CommVEx room, I hope that they can provide a solution for the program's PAL timing (its three sprites cause trouble with PAL C64's). After all these years of selling the Sound Ultimate Xpander 6400 (SUX 6400) with Digimaster 64 and Digimaster 128, I recently had a sale of the package. I decided to look at the messages concerning the product, and I realized that Hydrophilic had long ago posted details of how he modded the original Digimaster 64 in order to use the expanded capabilities of the 128 in his Digimaster 128 version. His details are at sites.google.com/site/h2obsession/CBM/C128/digimaster-128Truly, Robert Bernardo Fresno Commodore User Group - www.dickestel.com/fcug.htmSouthern California Commodore & Amiga Network - www.portcommodore.com/sccan
