Well, SCCAN member Charles G. gave me a C128DCR board which he could not get working (I wonder what happened to the rest of the computer). Several months ago when I was in the Pacific NW I handed it over to Ray Carlsen for repair. Ray diagnosed and repaired it - bad JiffyDOS chip and missing 8502 and Kernal ROM (the last two probably when Charles scavenged it for parts). I pick up the repaired board on Wednesday. Now that the board is working, what should I do with this extra? CBM engineer Bil Herd has no C128DCR; he's always said that the West Germans took his original C128 creation and modified it. I have the idea to gift the board to him. What a surprise it will be when he gets a board which is the stepchild to his original! Or you could take it to L.V. and put it in the raffle.

Or you could take it to L.V. and put it in the raffle. Nope, something far bigger and heavier is going to be put in the raffle. And this one won't fit a suitcase. It was mentioned somewhere else, or maybe he said it, that the 128D was made in the US for the European market and the 128DCR was made in Germany for the US market.
