I don't know if it was mentioned before or somewhere online, but I couldn't find anything with the search I did. I thought I'd give the 1581 a go with a GOTEK USB Drive. I had a generic one left and decided to upload flashFloppy 0.9.31 into it. I put this unit into the 1581 and put turrican.d81 on a thumb drive, inserted it into the gotek and mounted the .d81. I have an OLED display on the GOTEK so I do know it mounted perfectly fine and with track and sector info displayed, as well.
It worked great. I know that the pi1541 can do this without the need for a 1581 motherboard like the GOTEK requires, but it was an interesting thing to check out I thought. And if you didn't know it, now you have the answer
Cheers, c

Another quick note on this topic. Everything I tested worked perfectly. That is Burst mode, partitioning, cbm86, etc. It was all flawless. I guess there's the bonus of that over the pi1541 ATM. Cheers ~ c
