Well, I searched and only found the 1571 users manual... This _was_ working, but all it does now is give me a file not found error. I'm trying to perform the equivalent of.. open8,8,8,"0:filename,s,r" in ASM. the "0" being partition 0/1 idk why my code's broke.. the filenames are correct, length is correct, and I'm positive the files actually exist on partition 0/1. IIRC, this forum answered this question a year ago, but nothing was returned in a few basic searches... thank You!!

This should be pretty straight forward to do, but impossible to say what the problem is without the code. You should call setbnk, setnam, setlfs and open, then chkin on the file handle and chrin until the end of the file checked with status. Then close.

Just a point : They are not partitions, they are drives. Commodore DOS is built for the old Dual Drives, i.e one device has 2 disks, at which the 0/1 chooses which disk in the drive you want to write to. While a partition is a sub section of the disk that behaves like it is a whole disk. the 1581 for example has partitions.
