Yes you can buy here commodoreserver.com/Products.asp I was hopeful the Flyer and like devices would have been more widely utilized driving other similar devices into existence as demand builds with more features and user support following. Cheap and very compatible SD mass storage devices took this nich market by storm everyone now would have in one flavor or another. The Flyer and also buying a couple myself pushed me to create a online disk image and file host project. The last feature added due to user feedback requests was for a drag n drop feature, were you drop a disk image into the 1541 drive picture on the web drive project page to edit your disk image online with no need to register to use this feature, however registering gives you more options and your own static web drive url. ie cloud.cbm8bit.com/zzap/xmasisawesome.d64 for more information, feature requests are always welcome. cbm8bit.com/webdrive/ I was hoping maybe a new Flyer and or greater availability would bring more excitement to this space as Brandon was amazingly open to questions about his system leading to the creation of the media server we use for Flyer image hosting by him easily integrated into our project due to his openness. Questions asked were always questions answered and in good time while were in need of them in building our project. Zap

I don't wish to buy a comet as i have two Flyers and I'm a bit of a hacker at heart.
We have thrown around a few ideas on how this would be done via a hack that's hardwired to the Flyer basically using it as a short cut to a slip device, the cloud and on board disk emulation would be not use able while in slip or serial mode.

I like the Flat C128 over the C128Dcr however this is just a personal opinion and have three c128dcr and one older C128D with no issues.. My main Commodore is a C-128 flat for C-128 and C-64 software i run. I have however een unlucky with SX64 internal drives but repairable on each occasion they have failed. Always worth a read cbm8bit.com/articles/ray-charlsen/article26 Common C-128 chip faults. Also worth the read.. cbm8bit.com/articles/ray-charlsen/article20 Common 1571 and 1571 dcr faults.. zap.

I have found when Caps in power supplies burst it's from ac getting to the dc rail caused by faulty rectifier diodes or a higher voltage compared to the rated voltage of the Cap caused by faulty regulator circuits. For a C-128 power pack to have a deformed or leaky Cap one would think the rectifier diodes would be suspect first and then the regulator chip next. Less the poor girl has been heated from lack of air to keep it cool or over worked.
Of cause aged kills caps as well especially when they have been not used for many years.

Burst mode can be used in c64 mode... You can change from single sided mode to double sided mode even in c64 mode using "U0>M1" and "U0>M0" Example: OPEN1,8,15,"U0>M1":CLOSE1 Use this command in C64 mode... Then try to format the drive in C64 mode it should format as a double sided disk will it do this in C64 mode ? if so the issue is not burst mode but a c128 issue... Just a quick thought.
And if i had read all your posts i would have seen you already tried this.... OOpps
In c64 mode try to copy a couple of programs over to your newly formatted double sided drive and run one of them in C64 mode, does this work in c64 mode is so the burst mode is working i would think and the problem is else where.

A little off topic but i host and look after supercpu.cbm8bit.com/ The Home Of The SuperCPU if anyone try's anything and wishes to add your information for others to share about the SuperCPU email me or post here and i will add your information to the site also any programs not listed for the SuperCPU. Send a screenshot and link to program also a little first hand review. My experience i plugged my CP/M cartridge into the SuperCPU 128 with MMU/16meg on the C-128 in C-128 mode and C64 mode and found the CP/M cartridge did not work. If you get another result please share it with me. I can almost guarantee anyone with a CP/M cartridge and a SuperCPU would have tried. zap.

The Flyer does not have a serial link that current C-128/64 serial programs can use. I was thinking we could hack a Serial to Ethernet device to the Flyer this would allow C-128/64 serial programs compatibility to the Flyer like the Comet and then look at adding the serial slip driver to the C-128/64 version of Contiki it's a little out of the box thinking but might prompt other ideas. contiki.sourceforge.net/docs/2.6/a01693.htmlI'll look into this with Stingray and send some feedback to Oliver even if we just get to make the Flyer Compatible with C-128/64 serial programs then it's worthwhile for me. zap
