That was a great action, thanks!
Makes me wonder, what is the idea behind google sites if they take these things down so easily? When is youtube going to delete old entries…
Retro is an area with (pardon for generalizing) older people and sites/data/archives disappear .
For instance, are there backups (mirrors?) of zimmers?

Good question. I have no idea why Google would delete it after all of this time.
The only reliable thing I could come up with for myself was download and save as much of what is important to me NOW, before it is gone. I have to watch the amount of bandwidth I use, but recently I started downloading PDFs of the old computer mags that matter to me. I'm also doing web page saves of what content I can, along with requesting the WayBack Machine to do archives (even though there's the risk of Archive.org getting mothballed at some point). Only having my own copies, can I guarantee that the information will be there when I want it.

That's why a while back, I requested an archive of the site be done by The Wayback Machine. Thanks! I like referring back to that site every once in awhile. I have not checked that site in some time - was it always a google site?
I do not recall having to type in ID and PW + waiting for dual authentication.

I can't say that it's "always" been a google site, but I've had that link referenced to it for a few years like that on my own website. So, it's been like that for a least some amount of time.
