Hi,
Not yet, though the digi sounds now play fine on vice128 and the updated graphics are done. Though the digi stuff worked fine under BASIC 8 in in 1989, it just would not run or sound well in VICE128. So ... I rewrote the source until I found from the B8 program to play 8 bit/8k sample PCM files imported from Audacity without using an IRQ routine. I assume they sound equal or better on a real 128.
The main hold up at the moment is the 128 I had for testing blew it's power supply when I turned it on after years of no use ... that and I can not find the monitor I saved. I literally spent hours looking for it and now with the state on lock down, I can't even go to goodwill to see if I can find a junker PC monitor. No one on CL seems to have a CGA for less then $200+ ...

Wow, you could'nt give CGA monitors away for free years ago.

Have you considered using a CGA to RGBs adapter? This would make the CGA output work on any normal analogue RGB monitor (Amiga style) or euro SCART TV. I have a load in my store atm.

So, I have collected some HVAC control units, I am going to unsolder the resistors I need and see of that works. Hopefully release by the end of the month.

Sorry for the double post, the 1st one did not show when I did a refresh. I guess my comcast went out, again, right when I was checking, and all I had was the older thread and it showed that I never sent the reply.
> Wow, you could'nt give CGA monitors away for free years ago.
Actually, I sold all but the ones I kept, I kept a C-1702 too. I do remember giving away a boat load of cables and SCSI interfaces to Goodwill or Salvation Army. I could not sell 1/2 decent PointOfSale touch screens monitors that worked for even $10, on CL recently, that ranged from 12-17". So, I robbed them of memory and hard drives and scrapped them. I guess some people think they are going to get $200 for CGA monitors ... I would buy one for $200 if I knew I could sell it for that later on, I doubt it. I did find one guy about 300 miles away in another state (Florida) selling an Amiga 1084 for $30 or so.
I found maybe a dozen video and IEC cables I forgot. I cannot remember what the video cable with 5 connectors was used for originally, it looks factory.

Yes, I guess the only solution is to buy two cables/adapters ? I have seen those on E-bay. If you want to recommend one, I would listen.
I guess that would be $50 plus the $40 for some sort of smartcard reader for the IEC port. I am releasing on a .D81 since that seems to be the norm for downloads and so I do not have to deal with 1581s since I sold all my 1581s ... Still hoping to get Ubuntu working with the 1581/3.5 (actually Amiga) drive internals I saved so I can read the original disks again. I was able to get them to work under 1581 COPY, but, not under the newer Ubuntu.
I did find some old EXTRON test equipment I forgot to sell, including some kind of scan converter, so, building one is not out of the question if I have clear instructions. During the course of this I found a neat 8 bit easter egg in an Eishenfunk video/song that I am including how to decode. I have not seen it mentioned anywhere.

As a C128 Preservationist I would love to see some screenshots of the game. All I currently have is the game description and info. Even pictures of the original disks would be welcomed.

Hi,
I already finished the 2nd version of the game, the main reason I have not released it is I have not tested it on a real C-128, since the one I had blew it's power supply and my version of the Abacus compiler (which was just for the BASIC boot loader since it is written in 12,000+ lines of 100% assembly) no longer works. I will try to release the new version this month. I believe I fixed all the previous complaints, plus, I added in most of the stuff I took out for the 1st version except the music. Plus, I made more enemies ships, made them smarter, added digital graphics in each level, and slightly changed the story line.
I do have the original docs used for the laser color labels. the info sheet was just B&W laser printed both side with a plain black disc and white sleeve. If you drop me a gmail to Agent86.WouldYouBelieve I can send screen shots of the current version which plays under Ubuntu 21.10 and the current SNAP of VICE128.

You can get a heavy-duty C128 replacement power supply from Ray Carlsen. As for the compiler, are you talking about the BASIC 128 Compiler? I only know of one version for that compiler. I can send you the compiler (on disk if you want). Well, at today's FCUG meeting, we played with the older version of Cloneimals, dated 2/16/2020, on the club C128, a flat model which to my knowledge has not been upgraded to 64K video RAM! And it does scroll much better and has better collision detection than the original Cloneimals I bought years and years ago. I'm thinking that the game should be shown at Commodore Los Angeles Super Show this year. What a surprise for the attendees! Nice! P.S. I took some screenshots of the game in-play. I will post them soon.
