I recently acquired VizaStar128, complete with manuals, disk and cartridge.
Made a video walkthrough of its tutorial:
The software needs both the disk as the cartridge to run. Is there any way to make an image of the cartridge so I can run both the disk image and the cart image of my UltimateII+ cartridge?

robertb I read elsewhere on this forum (the Multiplan) thread that you are an avid VizaStar128 user. Any ideas? Saw you mentioning the Megabit Interal ROM adapter can run it, so I assume it must be imageable?

Update: thanks to great help from Bart van Leeuwen, we actually did manage to extract the ROM image. So we now have Vizastar working running on solely images from the original using the Ultimate II+ cartridge to emulate both the disk image as the cartridge image.
This while still supporting the hyperspeed functionality of Bart’s Device Manager ROM to enable using very fast loading from the software IEC drive of the UII+.
(still working on it and also plan to scan the documentation. After that, will investigate how to best safeguard this for the future, not sure if there is still active copyright on it preventing it to share freely. For now, DM me if interested in the present images)

Does this mean we could use Vizastar on Vice? No alas. AFAIK Vice does not support C128 type cartridges correctly, so alas loading the .crt file in VICE fails to work. On an Ultimate II+ with Device Manager ROM however it works great. |
