I still need to get everything sorted in regards to taking pictures, pricing it and so on, but in the meantime I wanted to post a heads up here to gauge interest from community members. This system's a bit of an odd duck, but I think it's an interesting one regardless. I'm trying to decide what to include with the base unit and what to sell separately.
Definitely included:
Included cheaply if needed:
Probably selling separately on eBay, but wondering if it would be better to bundle?
Also probably separately:
If any of the above sounds interesting to anyone, let me know. As I said, I still haven't settled on pricing or a definitive idea of what should be included with the base system, but will nail that down soon. Whether the PAL conversion is a plus or a minus will depend on the person. For me, being able to run the multitude of PAL-specific software was a huge plus.
Definitely included:
- 1 North American flat C128 converted to PAL, with 64KB VDC upgrade and option ROM containing JiffyDOS and BASIC 8 (switchable by holding ALT on boot, and can also be completely disabled via a hardware switch). Works great, clean machine, original PSU and box (I don't remember if the serial matches, but I'll check and see)
- 1 Pi1541 for easy support of D64 and D81 disk images from SD card, Raspberry Pi and SD card and cable included, ready to use, no case
- 1 clicky Epyx 500XJ joystick
- 1 mushy Atari joystick
Included cheaply if needed:
- 1 20" LG LCD PAL TV with US adapter, SCART and other inputs, can handle both 40 and 80 columns
- 1 SCART cable for C128 that supports both 40 and 80 columns (one at a time by flipping a switch)
Probably selling separately on eBay, but wondering if it would be better to bundle?
- 1 1571 with JiffyDOS, with cable, in unknown working condition. It powers on and responds over serial, but I don't currently have any floppies to test it with. As-is.
Also probably separately:
- 1 RGBtoHDMI with cable and case, Raspberry Pi and SD card and cable included, ready to use. Superior output to SCART, of course, but can require tweaking for various screen modes and your particular monitor
- 1 Sidekick64 cartridge, needs Raspberry Pi and SD card (probably neither included but will check if I have spare), no case
- 1 RAD Expansion cartridge, needs Raspberry Pi and SD card (probably neither included but will check if I have spare), no case
If any of the above sounds interesting to anyone, let me know.
