Hi!
Everybody of us knows that flat C128 and C128D have VDC 8563 and there's possible to connect composite video which displays only white, two shades of grey and black color. I owned earlier D version and had it connected. When I bought 1st Commodore 128DCR I found difference first unknown - composite video is not possible to use - displays nothing. Later I found differences between machines. Well, long time I mean that reason is in difference between 8563 and 8568. 8568 can have reversed sync to display 16 color EGA mode by 38th register - new register existing on 8568 only. So, what is real it?
Is it in VDC 8568 upgrade or only for "Cost Reduced" computer? Can it to be only for removing any component from C128/D to create CR version? But I have bit problem - each C128 which I used in time were PAL machines only - but really don't know how can affect PAL or NTSC this feature...even if it is composite video
What do you think? Where is truth? It can be nice to have VDC composite available on DCR too...

It can be nice to have VDC composite available on DCR too... On my metal C128DCR, I can get composite video off the 80-column display. In fact, before I had a color 80-column monitor, I had to use a monochrome monitor, and that was the only way I could see 80 columns. Ok, Robert, thank you for good news.
How to connect composite video in DCR? Connection like flat/D works not, or?

Only just seen this.
I have connected a DCR to my TV composite input before and it works. (A bit blurry though).

Not RF, Composite video.
I hacked a lead together to see if one of my DCR's were working.
