Hello this is my 1st post. I got my C128D last week and have had the UII+ for almost 2 years for my C64. I have the device manager 1.99 bin on the USB stick and flashed it to the UII+. I have done hours of googling and reading and know you can’t mount a .D71 file to the UII+. I have a SD2ICE also but can’t get power to it because it won’t reach the cassette port (I’m thinking of putting an extra C64 back there next to the C128D and use it’s cassette port to power it?). OK this is what I’m asking for help with. I want to set the internal 1571 to 9 so that I can copy some .D71 disk images (like this CPM image I have) to a real 5.25 disk. I’ve spent hours!! and keep just getting the two 1541’s on the UII+ at 8 & 9. One time I did see three drives (two 1541’s and a 1571) but I can’t seem to get to that screen again. Also I’ve read and have the small 2k program 128copy and older version called copyd71d81 and from what I’ve found is that you can’t mount a D71 but you don’t mount it and just select it from the UII+ USB’s stick and copy it to the real 1571 in the C129D. Has anyone done this? Also have read that you can mount the D71 on the SD2ICE and then copy to the 1571. Has anyone done this? Any help would be gratefully appreciated!!! Things seemed so much easier in 1988-1990 when I had my 1st C128D!!! Probably because I was 22 and had been a computer geek since 16 and now I’m 55 and just download stuff and run it. Lol)

Any success getting your setup running?
If you use a UII+ and CP/M I would recommend getting the support tools to access the UII+ mounted USB device directly from CP/M (e.g. "u2copy.com" and "u2cd.com") In addition you might find the CPM-bios I'm tinkering on useful which allows to mount the so-called UCI drive (that is the IEC directory you can select in the UII+ browser) in CPM and use "ucicd.com" to get to another dir.
If you download stuff (like CPM programs) and ftp them onto your UII+ then u2copy allows you to get them "into" your C128 CP/M environment.
