Could the chip be set up to load from a UIEC device? I would love to get a GEOS chip in my 128's, but doubt I'll ever use a real floppy ever again. The chip could have been programmed to load from a 1541, a 1571, or a 1581. So my guess is that it could be set up to load from the UIEC device.

Did he tell you what German company/person made or distributed the program? Apparently it was made / distributed by the same person / group that made GeoDOS and GeoMegapatch. Here is the website. c64.webgrimm.de/
The GeoCom demo version is available for download.
P.S. On a different thread I posted looking for TopDesk128. The demo version is here also. But not the full version.

The schematics are date July 1983. So predating the release of the C128. As such it looks as if they were meant for the C64 and maybe adapted for the C128.?

I am using WinVice to emulate CP/M for the C128. Drive A: is 1541, drive B: is 1581. It looks as if CP/M recognizes correctly drive B:. But I cannot format a blank D81 image.

but I set C64 mode and with small hope inserted CP/M 2.2 disk into drive... I began booting. I meant still that's beginning of boot and it will later crash, like CP/M 3.0 when is SCPU turned on. So, I removed cartridge and tried the same - surprise: CP/M 2.2 boot after entering command RUN only simple returns power-on message - and it was beginning... of many surprises and success... I must note that first tests were with SCPU turned off. Miro I was wondering if you have a .D81 of that CP/M 2.2 disk.

And just to complete this thread. I was able to get a faux leather cover for the C64C, which seems to work pretty well for the C128D keyboard.

I think it was written by some hardware folks at Commodore (maybe Bil Herd?) that CP/M cartridge would not work with C128 in any mode? Even without SuperCPU! Don't know where I read that or how true it is... Page 12 of the C128D System guide states "If you have the external CP/M 2.2 cartridge marketed for the Commodore 64, do not plug it into the Commodore 128. The Commodore 128 has a Z80 microprocessor already on-board for CP/M 3.0. If you do plug in the CP/M 2.2 cartridge, it can cause unpredictable results."
On the same page later on the guide also states "If you have the 1764 RAM expansion module for the Commodore 64, DO NOT use it with the Commodore 128. The 1700 (128K) or the 1750 (512) RAM expansion modules are designed for the C128 hardware.
I know that is not true. The C1764 cartridge works perfectly well in the C128D.
And it looks as if Miro has proven that also the statement about CP/M is not totally correct.

I am looking for the GEOS 128 desktop replacement TopDesk.
I ran a search in cbm8bit cbm8bit.com/8bit/commodore/search?query=topdesk128 but I found various demo versions of that program and German versions that require an original disk.
The challenge is also on the fact that TopDesk needed to be renamed as Desktop after installation.
