I want to buy an NTSC C128 with 16 kB VDC RAM. It needs to be shipped to Sweden.

You have been doing this for years so it looks very promising, willymanilly. I'm looking forward to trying this out later.

How wide does it need to be? Does it need a margin from the screen (why not 85 instead of 100)? Does it need a margin to the end of the display (why not 127 instead of 125)?

I was going to hack VICE to add register dumps and I found that it already exists. Type 'io d600' in the monitor and the registers will be printed.

I am having trouble understanding exactly what to put in the register 34 and 35 to set the horizontal blanking position. Why are these set to 125 and 100 by the kernal? The register descriptions in The Programmers Reference Guide or Mapping the C128 isn't too clear about how this relates to other settings.

But that will require a lot of switching to access data from code or large part of common RAM. I'm trying to keep data where the code is and have both in both RAM banks. I think I'll prefer this, if I can avoid making too many mistakes.

Is there windows software? Any chance I could get a copy of this code? Did you write it or is it commercial stuff? No, I don't have a Windows port. This is something I hacked myself. If you are still interested I can send it to you.

Oooh, can I have details on the Serial port setup you have please? I want to do something similar. I would love to hear how you do it. Yes. It is a program that is started on the C128 that waits for serial communication. It accepts commands to transfer data or do file communication. I have a command line client program written in C++ that I run on my Linux PC to issue commands like this. serialclient load program.prg serialclient fcopy program 8: serialclient dcopy disk.d64 8: It uses a Swiftlink or GLink cartridge for the serial communication.
